Permanent Makeup Aftercare Instructions

Proper aftercare is essential for achieving the best healed results from your permanent makeup procedure. Please follow these guidelines carefully to support healing, color retention, and long-term results.

Day of Procedure and Next Day

  1. Gently blot the area with a clean paper towel or tissue if you notice any lymph fluid or moisture.
  2. Do not rub or wipe aggressively.
  3. Keep the area clean and dry.
  4. Gently cleanse the treated area 1–2 times per day with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and water.
  5. Pat dry with a clean towel or disposable paper towel.
  6. Keep the area dry.
  7. Do not apply any makeup, ointments, or skincare products unless specifically instructed.

Days 3-7

  1. Continue gentle cleansing daily.
  2. Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor (or approved aftercare ointment) 2+ times per day to prevent excessive dryness.
  3. Do not over-apply — the skin should not feel greasy.

General Healing Guidelines

First 2-3 Weeks

Avoid the following to prevent pigment loss and irritation:

  1. Retinol and vitamin A products
  2. Acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic, etc.)
  3. Exfoliators or scrubs
  4. Direct sunlight and tanning
  5. Excessive sweating, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming

Lip Blushing Aftercare

For lip blush clients, also avoid:

  1. Salty or spicy foods
  2. Foods and drinks with heavy dyes
  3. Red wine
  4. Teeth whitening treatments during healing

Eyeliner and Lash Line Enhancement Aftercare

For eyeliner or lash line services, avoid:

  1. Latisse or lash growth serums
  2. Lash tinting or lifting
  3. Lash extensions or false lashes
  4. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, or mascara until fully healed

Important Healing Notes

  1. Scabbing, flaking, and light peeling are normal.
  2. Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treated area.
  3. Color will appear darker initially and soften as healing progresses.
  4. Final healed results are visible after 6–8 weeks.
  5. Touch-up appointments are required to perfect and maintain results.
